From an early age, I was all-in on Japan. The only thing I enjoyed more than playing NES and Sega Genesis was Saturday afternoon Godzilla on tv. 

Joy led to obsession after my first experience inside a sushi restaurant. Despite thinking I might throw up, the food and the atmosphere blew me away. I couldn't get enough.

Fast forward past a career in Japanese bars and restaurants, I now make and sell things I think are cool. All of my clothes, prints, and merch are inspired by my love of Japanese culture, food, and drink. 

 

About The Store

The Japanese Bar Shop is all about merchandise and educational products for food and beverage enthusiasts and fellow nerds. 

All of my products are unique and created by yours truly. I only use the highest-quality materials available, so the stuff looks good and lasts. And shipping is included for every product, so you know its true cost.

The Japanese Bar Shop is small but dreams big. There are three core goals:

• become a leader in quality Japanese-aesthetic merchandise
• offer the best educational products to enthusiasts and professionals
• improve your dining and drinking experiences 

Learn Sake Easily

That was the goal for my Sake Grades and Styles poster. My original product was the culmination of years of drinking, studying, selling, and teaching sake. 

I heard the same questions daily and watched so many sake enthusiasts struggle to take that next step. It inspired me to make a product that would make learning sake simple. 

The Japanese Bar Shop was originally a vehicle to sell and promote this sake poster. 

But I soon realized why stop there?

Inspiration

As you know, I'm a huge fan of Godzilla, anime, sake, shochu, and Japanese food. But I also love my family and pets.

Several years ago, my dog Captain was slowly fading away. Leaving him to go to work became an agonizing experience. 

I needed to make a change.

So I created a blog, The Japanese Bar, to share my passion. But more importantly, I wanted more time with my dog and my loved ones. 

The Japanese Bar Shop is an evolution of my blog. It’s an outlet for my love for all things Japanese. And it reminds me daily that life is about people, pets, and passions.
