Oni Geisha Ukiyo-e Short-Sleeve Unisex T-Shirt

This shirt is Japanese ukiyo-e geisha art with a twist. The design is based on the famous artwork Takashima Ohisa Using Two Mirrors to Observe Her Coiffure by Utamaro Kitagawa.

Ohisa is one of the three beauties of the Kansei Period. And the back of her mirror shows the Takashimaya family crest.

But instead of her beautiful face reflected in the mirror, gazing back is the grotesque smile of an oni. The demon is the Laughing Hannya (Warai Hannya) by Hokusai Katsushika.

The shirt design features the weathered look of the original 220+-year-old print but with crisp, clean lines.
